PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction. It is a molecular biology technique used to amplify specific DNA fragments, which can be seen as special DNA replication outside of the body. According to the Interim Measures for the Management of Clinical Laboratory Amplification Testing Laboratories, the principles for setting up clinical gene amplification testing laboratory areas are as follows:
(1) Principles for Regional Setting of Clinical Gene Amplification Testing Laboratory
1. Reagent storage and preparation area
2. Specimen preparation area
3. Preparation of amplification reaction mixture and amplification zone
4. Amplification product analysis area
If a fully automated analyzer is used, the regions can be merged appropriately.
(2) Each work area must have clear markings to avoid mixing equipment and items in different work areas.
(3) Entering each work area must strictly follow a single direction, namely reagent storage and preparation area ->specimen preparation area ->amplification reaction mixture preparation and amplification area ->amplification product analysis area.
(4) Use different work clothes (such as different colors) in different work areas. Staff members are not allowed to take their work clothes out when leaving each work area.
